This year, we’re incredibly happy and grateful to have been selected by Animal-Kind International (AKI) as part of their Grant Program to carry out our project, “Causes Come Together in Honduras.”Through this project, we’ll be providing veterinary care and spay/neuter services for the animals living at Hogar de Niños Amigos de Jesús, a children’s home located in San José de Colinas, Macuelizo, Santa Bárbara. But this project is about much more than caring for the animals. We also want to teach the children about love, kindness, respect, and responsibility toward animals, helping inspire a new generation to grow up with compassion for all living beings. We’re also very thankful to Lakes Animal Friendship Society for donating the educational materials we’ll be using with the children. This August, we made our very first visit to Hogar de Niños Amigos de Jesús. We’re so grateful to the director for warmly welcoming us, showing us around, and giving us the opportunity to learn more about this wonderful place and the animals who call it home. During this first visit, we were also able to take an important first step by deworming some of the animals. And this is just the beginning. We’re truly excited and grateful for the opportunity to give back to this community, improve the lives of these animals, and share an important message with the children: loving and respecting animals helps us build a kinder and more compassionate world. A huge thank you to Animal-Kind International, Lakes Animal Friendship Society, and Hogar de Niños Amigos de Jesús for helping make this project possible. When we come together for a good cause, we can make a difference in both human and animal lives.
